In a remarkable demonstration of commitment to his constituents, Hon. Muktar Tolani Shagaya, member of the House of Representatives representing Ilorin West/Asa Federal Constituency, successfully concluded a four-day medical outreach that provided free health consultations, medications, and prescription glasses to thousands of residents across the constituency.
The outreach, which began at Government High School, Adeta, Ilorin, on Monday, was aimed at addressing the healthcare needs of underserved communities. On the first day, residents of Ajikobi/Alanamu Local Government Area received comprehensive healthcare services, ranging from consultations to the distribution of free medications and prescription glasses. Speaking on the initiative, Hon. Shagaya emphasized his dedication to improving the well-being of his constituents, stating, “This outreach is a testament to our firm belief that everyone, regardless of location or background, deserves access to quality healthcare.”
Day Two saw the outreach team move to ECWA Junior Secondary School, Taiwo, where a large crowd from the Magaji Ngeri Constituency turned out for medical consultations and care. The residents expressed their gratitude for the initiative, as many had been unable to access needed healthcare services due to financial constraints. Smiling faces and words of appreciation filled the air as individuals received not only consultations but essential medications and prescription glasses to improve their quality of life.
On the third day, the outreach program reached Afon, Asa Local Government, where the medical team attended to the health needs of hundreds of residents. From children to the elderly, the turnout reflected the significant demand for healthcare in the community. Hon. Shagaya noted that the overwhelming response was a clear indication of the importance of the program and promised to continue similar initiatives to serve the people better.
The final day of the outreach took place at the Aisha Buhari Mother and Child Hospital in Eyenkorin, Owode/Onire Constituency. The atmosphere was lively as the medical professionals worked diligently to provide consultations, distribute free medications, and offer prescription glasses to those in need. Hon. Shagaya, visibly pleased with the success of the program, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the residents for their cooperation and participation.
